This basic study material on the law of torts has been compiled by team Lawwhich. It is our dream to provide accessible and high quality study material to all law students as well as anyone who wants to learn the law in India. The law of Tort in India is developed and evolved from the law of Torts in India. Most popularly known as “judge made law” this law does not come from a statute and is not codified. Irrespective of this, it has been in existence over a number of years, however the instances for cases under tort have been reducing.

Lawwhich is a Family of law and the area of law that addresses family relationships. It includes creating family relationships and breaking them through divorce and termination of parental rights. This law addresses adoption, contested custody of children, etc.

Common crimes are criminal offenses that people commit every day in society. 1. Property crimes: Major property crimes are burglary theft, motor vehicle theft etc. 2. Consensual crimes: This is also called victimless crime. Criminal law, the body of lawwhich that defines criminal offenses, regulates the apprehension, charging, and trial of suspected persons, and fixes penalties and modes of treatment applicable to convicted offenders.

Contracts are made up of three basic parts – an offer, a Doctrine of Privity, Doctrine of Frustration, Minor’s Contract Capacity, Capacity’ to Contract. The offer and acceptance are what the purpose of the agreement is between the parties. Contract law is generally governed by the state Common Law, and while general overall contract law is common throughout the country, some specific court interpretations of a particular element of the Contract may vary between the states.

Lawwhich is the jurisdiction with respect to maritime claims under the Bill will vest with the respective High Courts and will extend up to the territorial waters of their respective jurisdictions. The central government may extend the jurisdiction of these High Courts. Currently admiralty jurisdiction applies to the Bombay, Calcutta and Madras High Courts.

Administrative law is the division of law that governs the activities of executive branch agencies of government. Lawwhich is Administrative law concerns executive branch rulemaking (executive branch rules are generally referred to as "regulations' '), adjudication, or the enforcement of laws.
